About us

The newly decorated apartment is on the black volcanic rocky coast in Stazzo, 20-minutes away from the beautiful city of Catania on the southern side, and the precious town on the hill of Taormina to the north.

The building that houses this holiday apartment was built in the first half of the 20th century, in the middle of a citrus orchard which was unfortunately later destroyed by urban development. It is right on the coast where local agricultural entrepreneurs - the so called "Burgisi" - planted the first citrus fruit orchards, which Eastern Sicily was later famous for, and carefully built or refurbished houses during the course of the 19th century.

Because of the seashore being way too close to the houses, especially during the winter storms, the street level was further heightened. Hence, most of the old houses do not have any windows overlooking the seafront, but they overlook the interior courtyards instead.
